[So here we are, Guerrero of Lucha and the big event El Gran Anniversaaio and what better way to celebrate two years of GOL than having it be the first time we see Chris Spade inside of GOL. Chris Spade who has quiet the reputation around the world and earlier this year he announced that he would be traveling to different companies and taking on a lot of new faces over the course of the year and now he signed on with GOL and taking part in the La Azteca rumble where he could very quickly take a big jump to the top of GOL if he walks out the winner, the one thing for sure GOL fans should be very excited to see Chris Spade taking part in GOL for the first time in such a major event.]
[The Scene opens with Chris who is sitting what looks to be at his home in LA, the time frame is about a couple weeks before the big event, Chris is outside on his back patio that overlooks his pool and ext. Chris in street clothes as he starts speaking to the cameras that are rolling.]
Spade: “Guerrero’s of Lucha, the El Azteca Rumble match, this is going to be a very interesting journey for me because this is how I debut in GOL and what better way for someone like myself to start on what is one of this company biggest events, there Anniversary show or as that call it Annversaaio, Sorry if my Spanish isn’t all that great because I didn’t take that in school so please forgive me. Now I know a lot of you have a lot of questions that I hope after I get done here, I’ve answered at less a lot of them, Now I don’t have no official interviewer or anybody from GOL here with me right now but I have a lot of things to say to everyone on that long list of people who have entered into this Rumble match. So lets start with, well why did I come to GOL? I’m sure that is a question on a lot of people minds and a very good one to say to less. Now I have my reasons, and this rumble match is really getting my foot in the door in GOL. Now I look at it as a way to quickly put myself in the top ranks in the GOL because no matter what I have done elsewhere, I know every company wants me to proof myself all over again in there world and this Rumble match, is an opportunity for a lot of people and myself is on that list and I know what I need to do and that is take the chance, sees the opportunity if you will but in wrestling? Nothing is given to you, it’s earned and I have earned everything I have ever done in my legendary career. I say that not because I say I’m a legend but others have and I earned that reputation, and I now must live up to it here in this match.”
[Chris pauses for a moment as he takes a deep breath and you can almost really see the fire in the eyes of Chris as he speaks about the match.]
Spade: “You know it’s tough, for a lot of reasons this will be a challenge not because I’m defending my own reputation that I have, but you think about all the different talents that will be in this match. I’m guessing that I should be glad I don’t have an interviewer here asking me right now how do I prepare for a match like this? You know, there really now an answer to it because let’s be honest, how do you prepare for some many different talents that have enter this match and not knowing when they are going to be in it, before you enter, after, hell some could be gone so it will be interesting for me because my biggest challenge is that I haven’t been here before so I am doing all the homework that I can and watching as much footage I can find from the other GOL events to get some kind of idea of what the talent here are all about. You can say I am doing as much as I can to not walk into this match blind so to speak so at the end, it really about being ready for anything and everything but who knows what is going to happen in a match like EL Azteca Rumble, anything is possible when you have so many wrestlers all fighting each other, there are not friends, no partners, no nothing, it is survival, it like being in the jungle and you fighting for that next meal and to live on for another day in a world full of all kind of different animals. This match you have a world of all kinds of different wrestlers and that one title shot is our next meal and now we answer who gets to eat and live on.”
[Chris pauses for a moment as he takes a drink from a glass on the nearby patio table. Chris knows that GOL fans will be watching this match closely as Chris starts speaking.]
Spade: “A lot of people have asked me since they found out I signed a deal with GOL, one of the questions I get ask a lot is simply why? What was it about GOL that made me decide to sign a deal with them compare to all of the other hundreds of wrestling companies that are all around the world. Now that is a good question but a lot of it as to do with a bunch of the talent that is here, talent that I see myself having great matches against, now I could sit here and name them all but lets just say in due time, you will find out because not all of them are in the rumble match. I came here because what I like about GOL it has that old school feel. It’s not about the pyro and fancy production which I’ve been used too for most of my career but it reminds me of where I came from when I first started wrestling. As much money and success and the kind of life style that I do live, I don’t forget that I didn’t always have all of this. You can also say GOL has a different style than most places and that what makes it stand out and I’m not talking about Lucha which is another thing that makes it stand out, It’s there way of business, its not this full of suit and tie style and I like that about them. You see change is always good, and when I said that I would go to difference places throughout the year beyond what I do in the UWF. I wanted to miss it up with fresh faces and new talent and check off dream matches along the way and this place has some of those things. “
[As Chris takes a breath, you can tell that he in the mood that he wants this match to start right now.]
Spade: “Now I get the fact that going into this match, that I am still looking at an Outsider by GOL since this is my first event ever in GOL, Sure I know a couple of talent on the roster but it has been years sense we worked together and I do look forward in doing that again and some for the first time. This is a very exciting moment for me and I cannot wait until I make my debut in GOL because what I plan on doing is make an impact, a very memorable for impression in the GOL, because I know for me, this is the first event for me and I look to impress. As I talked about before I know when I walk into the ring for the first time no matter what number I enter that rumble match and I know that some of the talent are aware of what I have done and I know I have a reputation to live up too, and I plan on making the most of this run in the GOL and show the world what I am about.”
[As Chris was talking out of the back door of the house comes his Girlfriend Vicky Stone, who walks to the patio table and takes a sit next to Chris at the table with a drink in her hand and some normal flowered spring dress. Vicky starts asking Chris something.]
Stone: “What’s up Babe, so this Lucha thing sounds pretty crazy, I mean to start in a Rumble style match for your first match in this new adventure. Pretty crazy if you ask me but at the same time sounds exciting, I mean I’m going to support you like you do mean, which even know I still never got how you still put up with me. Mexico though, some nice places there and some dangerous places, and your fighting there is pretty nuts. Nuts, I tell you. So you have any idea who is in this match like at all?”
Spade: “Well, it’s hard to know who all is in this match or who will be there when I enter. They have a list of who signed up but it sounds like a free for all on who wants to be in the match which does make it challenge. Yes, all of this does sound crazy but you know that I’ve never done anything the traditional way as it is, hell when haven’t we been involved with some kind of crazy stuff? It’s a daily thing anymore with those cranky ass neighbors we have. You know I was here first and they built after me so it really their fault, I have seniority or something like that around these parts or whatever you want to call it, I made my money and I got this place years ago. When I did it nobody else was really here and they all followed me, so I call conspiracies on that, like they pretend that they hate us but really they do because they made that choice. As crazy as it does sound it relates to this match because as crazy it is to debut in the Rumble match, it was by choice, if I didn’t want too, all I ever had to do is not sign on that doted line, but it was the only way I could debut for GOL or otherwise wait another month but you know how I am, I hate waiting. When I sign with a company I’m ready to jump right into the mix of things, so I guess you can say that in this situation I’m taking what I can get, and if successful I could make a quick impact and turn a lot of heads on the situation which it is what I aiming to do.”
Stone: “Well you know I’ve always believed in you, I mean you are a legend after all, and it’s only a matter of time before everyone in GOL sees that, It’s crazy you know, crazier than the time Aunt Mary got her hand stuck in the neighbors doggie door. Nobody knows how she ended up over there or what she was doing but boy where they in for a surprise but than again I would be too if I saw a woman trying to get into my house with a doggie door dressed in a rainbow clown wig. That reminds me, that we never got that back.”
Spade: “Well we will at some point get a new one. Lord knows where it at now or where it’s been since that, even on Aunt Mary is suspect at that point. She was kind of a strange bird to begin with, She always had that odd smell like moth balls, I just never understood that but yes GOL will be crazy because this El Azteca rumble match where anything goes and anything can happen. As crazy it maybe, in a lot of ways however, I like it like that. I mean as long as I don’t go over that top rope and touch the floor I can do anything I want. If I wanted to smack someone in the head with a chair just because, I can. If I want to find who knows what could be under the ring to use, well I can. If I want to take someone’s hot dog from the front row and smash it in someone’s face, I can do that too and you know what? I may just do that for the fun of it. Hell I may just take someone in this match and ram there head up a donkey’s ass, why would there be a donkey you ask? Well who the hell knows but if there is, you know what’s going to happen.”
Stone: “Well anything is possible in Mexico right? Hey, I have to wonder Spaderman, since this is Mexico and the company about Lucha, isn’t it a tradition or something to wear a mask, If so we better get working on that, hell that could be a lot of fun now that I think about it. So may different ideas out there so who knows what we would come up with.”
Spade: “Well it is a part of there history and it is traditional but the only thing is once you put that mask on, you are not allowed to take it off unless you loss a match where you are forced too. They say most people that do, ends their career because the mask becomes a part of who they are. There character. Yes wearing a mask would be cool but if I only wore it once and unmask myself, it spits in the face of tradition as I’ve been told. So If I mask myself, I would have to always wrestle with it and go out in public with it on, never taking it off unless I’m at home. It’s like a super hero, they never reveal who that are under the mask. Yeah they have strict guidelines when it comes to the mask, Lucha has a very interesting history, that I have been learning since I signed with GOL.”
Stone: “Wow, I had no clue that you knew so much about this stuff. All the years we been together we never talked about this stuff. It’s kind of interesting.”
Spade: “Well I didn’t know until I signed here. I only knew very little and I wouldn’t call myself an expert now. Hell, I barely know a lick of Spanish but I did research to have more of an understanding about Lucha. What I do know is that my in ring style I think is going to fit very well into GOL, I mean they like exciting High Flying moves and fast passed action. Well that how I have been in my career is one of the fastest and I take chances, what I have to do when I’m not some six foot five body builder. What I like about Lucha is most of these guys are smaller and wrestle the same way I do and that is heart and guts. They take chances in the same ways I have always done. Now I don’t know if they do it in a smart way that I have become custom to do as years pass and I became a smarter or wiser wrestler. You see that what I will be learning on the fly during this Rumble match because there are going to be so many faces if not everyone in this match, that I never once step foot in the ring against or really had the chance to see in action. That alone is exciting but yet kind of nerve racking at the same time because who knows what is going to happen.”
Stone: “That’s some pretty heavy thoughts and I see your point just as much. Yeah I saw that if you win and I have no reason to believe that you wouldn’t, gets to Main Event I guess is the next show or something. That’s crazy because you could maybe be facing Roxi, I remember her and I know she was an awesome friend to us back in the day, wow that made it sound like a long time ago but it really wasn’t, but you know. I mean have you thought about that idea at all? I think you face off before but I’m not sure.”
Spade: “Well I haven’t really much because I have to win first before worrying about the rest, hell who knows what they mean by main event. It could be a title match or it could a multi person match, or it could be for any title, so it could just as much be Juliet Brooks or they could stick me with two other people and fight for trio titles, I guess we will see if and win I get there. Yeah it’s one of those one step at a time kind of things because this is all new for me, I mean outside of Roxi, I never in person seen anybody else wrestle. New company and it’s in Mexico so I will have to learn Spanish so I can I don’t know survive when I am here. I mean I gotta eat and have a place to sleep and be able to get back home in between. Anyway, this camera still on? Hey I think we are done here. GOL, I’ll see you all very soon.
[Chris gives on a smirk as the camera fads to black.]
