-No inner monologue.
No telling you how I am mentally.
- I just got done wrestling and I’m not in the mood to think. To much going on up there.
Walking into a locker room, I collapse onto a steel chair and breath in deeply as I stare at the camera across the room from me. Olivia Newman walks behind and shows off my titles that hang on her shoulders. She stays quit and watches as I do my best to control my breathing. My sweat soaked athletic tape tears off easily as I begin the promo .
Jack Tillman: “Tonight......tonight I just finished off a week long Tag Team Tournament over here in Japan. Over 20 teams participated in this tournament for Kamikaze Pro. The best of the best showed up to participate in this tournament to see who the best tag team is in the wrestling industry today. Veterans showed up. Rookies showed up. Wrestlers from all over the world were part of it. And out of those twenty something teams......myself and my good friend Devin Hearst faced off against Owen Gonsalves and Ace Watson in the finals.
And just a few minutes ago, the two of us just got done beat the living crap out of one another. Owen and Ace won...... and I couldn’t be happier for them because those two are some of the best in the industry today. I’m even happier to be done because tonights the last night of this week long tournament where I literally wrestled each day for the entire week. A week in Japan. Then during the tour I flew over to Mexico to wrestle in ACM. Immediately after the match I flew back to Japan to continue the tournament. Then while the one day I had off during the tournament to recover and relax for the semi finals, I instead flew from Japan to Texas to wrestle in a match for Gulf Coast Wrestling. And as soon as that ref slapped his hand for the three count, I was back on the plane to fly back to Japan where the next day......I wrestled three Tag Team matches in one night to make it to the finals which was today.
Mentally I’m tired. My body is sore. I have bruises on top of bruises and my whole body aches and at this very moment the only thing I want to do is sleep for an entire week in a bathtub filled with ice so that I can recover. But i can’t. I can’t because I get to fly back to the states. Over 13 Hours on a plane from Japan to Chicago where I’ll be crushed in a small seat filled with people who don’t know what the definition of deodorant is and people with battling colds.
I’ll only have a few days to rest before I have to start wrestling during the weekend. First for Gulf Coast Wrestling on Saturday for a three way for their Legacy Title. Then next day NGW where I get to face off against that lovable loser Johnny Maverick. Then I some how I have to make it to Mexico for GOL to participate in the first ever Lucha World Cup.
It’s nice to be wanted.
-I can’t help but grin as I grab a towel from my gym bag and place it over my head. Oh, by the way. The girl behind me. Olivia Newman. That’s Kurt Newman’s daughter. I’m training her to be a wrestler. She’s just following me and watching my matches. In return, she’s holds my titles.
Jack Tillman: “I’ve been with GOL now for about a year and I’ve had my ups and I’ve had my downs. I’ve seen people leave and I’ve seen people come up. GOL is not the same company since it first opened its doors and it’s not the same since I first joined the company. It’s not good.....but it’s not bad. It just needs something to spark it up a little. It needs......some Havoc.”
-Reaching my hand out, Olivia places my Trios Title in my hand. Holding the belt in front of the camera I begin to speak again.
Jack Tillman: “So I called up some friends from Japan. Made them an offer they couldn’t refuse. Gold. Gold plated titles and a fresh new country that we could dominate. Mark Storm. Devin Hearst. Mitsuo Shimada. And yours truly. The Dogs Of War.
And just like that, the landscape of GOL has changed. And it’s changed because people know that when the Dog Of War are at a wrestling event, they know that it’s going to get physical and that bodies are going to be laid out in body bags. A lot of people are beginning to sweat. Starting to feel that pressure because the Dogs Of War are real and we are the most dangerous faction in the industry today. Just look at our accomplishments with each individual. Mark Storm! That’s enough to make any man shake in his pants. Devin Hearst, one of most physical athletes in the industry today and tearing it up in the CWC scene. Mitsuo holds the top prize in NJFC. And then you have myself, one of the hardest workers in the industry today and I have the titles and the matches to prove it.
The American Ultras. Team Bay Area. Crippler, Tolson, and the mystery partner. You’ve done your things in other companies and most of you are friends outside of the wrestling world. But you aren’t a well oiled machine like The Dogs Of War. Your groups aren’t as invested as our group is. As soon as this tournament is done and over with.....you’ll go back to your separate companies and continue to wrestle outside on your own once this one time event is done and over with. But for us! For the Dogs Of War! We’ll be back in Japan....dominating that country and rest of the wrestling world.
So try your best. Put up a fight. Give it your all. Do what you have to do to try to beat us. Because if you don’t........we’ll make it worth our wild to hurt you just to amuse us. The Lucha World Cup is ours for the taking and there’s nothing anyone can do about it.
Cry havoc and let slip The Dogs Of War.”
-That’s enough for today. Time to clean up and get on that flight back to the states. Standing up I walk out of the cameras view. Olivia follows as well as the scene slowly fades.....to.......black.
