Group Information
Team Name: Team Bay Area
Team Nickname(s): Los Zapatistas, Team ZLL, Super Hyphy Machinery
Members: A.J. Morales, Dontell Porter, Jason Moana (note: outside of GOL, Dontell & Jason mainly compete as the tag team Hyphy Machinery)
Team (tag, trios or stable) : Trios
Team Gimmick: Three luchadores from the San Francisco Bay Area who all got their start in their local lucha promotion, Zapatista Lucha Libre, and want to rep their roots in the Lucha World Cup.
Combined Weight: 612 lbs.
Alignment (Tecnicos, Rudos or Neutral) : Tecnicos (Dontell & Jason lean more neutral, since they respond in kind to any rudo tactics their opponents use)
Team Attire: All three members wear black track jackets with red five-point stars on the front and their last names written on the back, which they take off before starting the match.
Theme Music: "Blow the Whistle" by Too $hort
Entrance (note that they always enter second):
The bassline of Too $hort's "Blow the Whistle" hits the PA, and the sound of an engine revving roars through the arena. The latter is quickly explained as a black Pontiac with a red five-point star spraypainted on the hood emerges from behind the curtain. Team manager Emilio Salazar drives the car forward as "The Revolution" A.J. Morales sits on the trunk while Dontell Porter and Jason Moana run alongside it, all three men vibing to the music and hyping up the crowd.
Ring Announcer: And their opponents...representing the San Francisco Bay Area, at a combined weight of 602 pounds...Dontell Porter! Jason Moana! And "The Revolution"! A! J! MOOOOOORALEEEEEEES!
About halfway down the ramp, Emilio stops the car and gets out, prompting A.J. to turn around and climb over the top of the car and join his teammates up front. As the team approaches the ring, giving out high-fives to the crowd, we see two officials run past them and push the car back up the ramp where it came from.
A.J. climbs onto the nearest side of the apron and gives a clenched-fist salute to the crowd, while Dontell and Jason climb up the two turnbuckles on either side and aim finger guns at their opponents before jumping down. With Emilio close by, the trio convene in their corner and huddle up to discuss strategy and decide who's going first.
Team Style: Since Dontell and Jason have been working together as the tag team of Hyphy Machinery for years, they form the base of the team's style. Both men are ring generals in their own right, and combined with how long they've been friends and partners inside and outside the ring, the two possess a scary synchronicity that enables them to open up opportunities for each other, create traps and misdirections, and respond in kind should their opponents decide to fight dirty. Adding A.J. to the mix only makes the team more dangerous, since he comes from a trios background, meaning he's well-adapted to the style to begin with, and opens up multiple new dimensions of attack with his martial arts training and aerial ability. But the most annoying thing for Team Bay Area's opponents to deal with is that, thanks to learning their wrestling school's in-house style of tag team wrestling, if you attempt to pin or submit one of them, the other two will reflexively jump in to break it up every single time unless they're physically cut off from doing so.

3 - Managers
Do you have a Manager?: Yes
Manger(s) Name(s): Emilio Salazar
Manager(s) Pic Base(s): Danny Trejo
A Bio if you have a manager: After a long and fairly successful run as an upper-midcarder throughout the '90's in Mexico as El Mondragón, Emilio Salazar retired from competition in 2003 upon his unmasking. After taking some time away from the business, Salazar relocated to San Jose, California and focused his efforts on training the next generation of luchadors through Zapatista Lucha Libre and its accompanying wrestling school, Zapatista Lucha Academy, where he personally trains every single prospective luchador who comes through his doors with his signature tough, but fair approach. Those he trains tend to adapt his hard-hitting, never-say-die ethos to their own personal styles, and the members of Team Bay Area, who all came up through his Academy and won championships in ZLL before rising to international prominence in XWA, are no exception. As thanks for all he taught them, the team personally asked him to be their manager for the tournament, and he was more than happy to accept.
