Hammerstein stands atop The Labyrinth as a warm southwest wind blows in his face. The intensity in his eyes is almost visible through his sunglasses.
Ya know, as short as my career been, I been all around da world at least a couple time. I done wrestled on six of da seven continents. I’ve wrestled across Europe, Asia, and Africa. I been across Canada, Mexico, and I done wrestled in forty nine of da fifty states. And I been a success everwhere I’ve went.
Except here.
I been here for seven, goin on eight months, and what have I accomplished since I got here?
Exactly dick. Don’t believe me?
December 2016 - My first GoL show, and I’m in a tag team elimination match. And...I’m da first one eliminated.
January 2017 - Dose damn American Ultras attacked me and my opponents before da match even start.
February 2017 - Lost in what was pretty much a three on one handicap match
March 2017 - Yup, lost dat match, too.
April 2017 - Lost my real match cause a dat damn Sam Washington, won a throw together match cause dat big ass clown gots ADD. Won da match, but I didn’t beat my opponent.
May 2017 - Lost my match by DQ cause dat fatass Washington can’t mind his own damn business, so he attack my opponent ta fuck me out of a chance.
June 2017 - I won my matches….in other companies, cause we had June off here.
July 2017 - I’m facin Mark Storm, probably da first bonafide real deal wrestler I’ve faced here in GoL. Now I know dey’s alotta peoples already markin dis in da “L” column for Da Hammer, and I gotta admit, da smart money on Storm.
But when anybody ever put da words ‘smart’ and ‘Hammerstein’ in da same sentence?
Mark Storm, “Your Hero and Mine.” Well, not my hero exactly. I don’t have heroes no more. I only had two heroes in my life. One of em buried in a graveyard just outside Whynot, Mississippi, and da other one buried in Seattle. But I know you ain’t talkin bout bein my hero. And I don’t care one way or da other.
Heroes are subjective. Facts are objective. So here’s da facts.
Fact number one:
You alot better wrestler den I am. You got a ton mo trainin den I got, and you forgot more den I’ll probably ever learn.
Fact number two:
I don’t care. I’m sho you got da trainin under yo belt ta leave me a pile a blood, snot, and broken bones. You probably got da trainin ta end my career. And ya know what, Hero? You gonna have ta leave me a pile of blood, snot, and broken bones if you plan on beatin me. But ta do dat, Storm, dat means you gotta be willin ta have me destroy you.
Fact number three:
You ain’t got it in ya.
See, Mark, you a champ in other companies. Ya got sumpin ta fall back on when I beat ya. But if you was ta beat me? Dat’s another in an ever growin list of losses here in da GoL.
And I can’t have dat.
So dis is it. It’s do or die for Da Hammer in da GoL. It’s win or go home.
If I can’t beat Mark Storm, den I leave GoL.
