Wrestler's Name: Declan Black
Nickname(s): "The Pride of Nova Scotia"
Gimmick: Super rich guy that happens to be a hardline wrestling purist. Incidentally, not terribly fond of Lucha. Yeah, he pisses off easily.
Height: 6'4"
Weight: 240 lbs.
Place of Birth: Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia, Canada
Alignment: (Tecnicos, Rudos or Neutral) : Rudo
Team (tag, trios or stable): Team Canada
Picture Base: Bobby Roode
Appearance/Attire:
RING ATTIRE - Classic wrestling trunks in Cape Breton Tartan, black knee and elbow pads and wrist tape. Tights (at the hip) and boots are monogrammed with his initials in classic wrestling style.
ENTRANCE ATTIRE - Ring robe in Cape Breton Tartan, "Black" inscribed on the back.
Outside of matches:
CASUAL ATTIRE -
Outside of event: Suits, usually silk, as expensive as he can get. Top of the line shoes, sunglasses, and a platinum Rolex, always. Also rarely found without a classic Halliburton briefcase. If in his home, it's probably a classic sports jersey (Nova Scotia teams especially, but he does wear Montreal Canadiens and Toronto Raptors jerseys) and basketball shorts.
Inside Event: Usually found working out, either in one of his own branded t-shirts, or a company one, matched with loose basketball shorts. Sometimes will wear a throwback Nova Scotia sports jersey, especially an old Cape Breton Breakers basketball jersey.
Theme Music: "Brenda Stubbert"-Ashley MacIssac
Entrance:
A hard guitar riff hits the speakers, as the lights black out. With each of the three soft cymbals, a spotlight appears on the stage: green, yellow, then white. The second riff trains two more spotlights on the set, both white, before the pipes and fiddle start, heralding the appearance of Declan Black. Wearing a confident smirk, he steps out of the curtain. Declan, he steps-saunters, really- to the ring, the picture of a self-assured athlete. He enters the ring, and takes his corner, sliding a Cape Breton Tartan custom mouthguard in after taking off his robe and passing it to a ring attendant. He does a few final stretches as he waits for the match to begin.
Primary Style: Strong Style (Technical/Big Strikes)
Secondary Style: Submission
Strengths:
Wrestling Encyclopedia- He's got one of the most extensive tape libraries of anyone in wrestling, and as such, has an almost endless catalogue of moves to use in the ring. And his execution is top-notch.
Cardio Machine- He altitude trains extensively, and smashes the cardio. He can outlast almost anyone, and if the match goes long, it's in his favour.
Master Strategist- Once he finds a weakness, he methodically picks it apart, crushing his opponent bit by bit. He can shift strategies well, too.
Resourceful- Not above pulling out a roll of dimes, brass knuckles, a chain from his boot, choking somebody with a tag rope...the works. He'll pull off anything he can get away with to win, and is quite skilled at hiding such activity.
Weaknesses:
Injury History- He's a 9 year pro, so his body is pretty banged up as it is, but he also has a surgically repaired neck and left wrist. He can be susceptible to overprotecting these body parts, sometimes leaving other areas vulnerable.
Hardline- He isn't going to brawl or fly with you. He has a style, he knows it, and he has no truck with other styles. As such, he's a terrible brawler who can't swing a weapon to save his life, and he's quite slow. His greatest troubles have come against brawlers and high-flying opponents he couldn't ground quickly. If he can't control the pace, he's screwed.
Easily Frustrated- He has opinions that he sees as truer than Gospel. And he flies off the handle the minute he's challenged on any of them. As such, if an opponent can get to him, Declan can be thrown off his game. As stated above, once he loses the pace and can't get it back quickly, he's done.
Pretty, Pretty Snorlax- He has great explosion and short range speed, but long-range, he's quite slow, as said above. He can lose control easily if he fails to keep his opponent grounded and close to him.
Favourite Moves:
1: Suplexes. Any suplex at all will do. Use your imagination. Liberally.
2: Rolling Elbow
3: Spinebuster (Anderson style)
4: Roundhouse Kick
5: Jumping knee strike
6: Spinning backfist
7: Triangle dropkick (with opponent on apron or on turnbuckle)
8: Rolling senton (With opponent in fireman's carry)
9: Kneedrop (Ever seen Flair do it? That kneedrop.)
10: Hangman's Neckbreaker
Trademark Move(s) and Description(s):
1: 25:17 (Crippler Crossface) [An homage to friend and former tag team partner Frank "D.C." Wiland.]
2: Painkiller 2.0 (Severn-style inside armbar) [Tribute to trainer Robbie Priest.] youtu.be/KtsfuyW-28Q?t=1m59s
3: In The Black (Regal Cutter) www.youtube.com/watch?v=O0unmDSYj50
4: Black Magic (Callihan-Style Stretch Muffler) [https://youtu.be/N1oOrv-BlEM?t=5s]
5: Knee Trembler
6: Piledriver
Finisher(s) and Description:
1: Blackout (Rainmaker Lariat) ***This move is super, super hyped and I tend not to allow kickouts from it. It hasn't been kicked out of yet, and while I'd be willing to do one for a big match, talk to me before you write it. I will probably say no. You can do counters or reversals all you want, but if you want to do kickouts, use the other finisher.***
2: Call of the Coal (Claymore Kick)
