May 28th was the day, and the table had already been set! What day? Why, it was the day to watch round one of the third annual Super Falcon Cup™! Eight talented men and women, each representing a promotion of their choice would do battle over the next three months - and under Bloodsport Rules, no less - for the distinction and the honor, and the bragging rights of claiming their company to be the best! And not to mention the right to carry the giant Super Falcon Cup trophy for the next year! Of course it wasn’t just easy enough so as to say I want to win the Cup and poof, the Cup was in your hands! And even if it were, that wouldn’t really be a Cup worth winning, now would it? Of course Chase Robinson wanted to win the Falcon Cup with as little effort as possible...sure as the shortest distance between two points was a straight line. But can I let you in on a secret?
Deep down, Chase knew this wasn’t going to be easy. One did not walk into a series of fights over three months contested under Bloodsport Rules, and expect it would all be rainbows and cotton candy. Then, as if such a grueling stipulation wasn’t enough, one only had to scan the card information to gleam the name of his first round opponent. Representing the promotion that has heralded winners of the Falcon Cup the past two years, New Generation Wrestling would be looking to secure the three-peat. And they certainly weren’t leaving anything to chance with their chosen representative;
“The Dropkick King” Adrien Cochrane.
That’s no small town player. Anyone that was worth their weight in salt, knew who exactly Adrien Cochrane was. A former FSociety Champion, NGW icon, and owner of a myriad of accomplishments the least of which would fill up far more than the few minutes of footage here. But, that’s the past, and the third annual Super Falcon Cup is the here and now. The present. The future. The third annual Super Falcon Cup...was almost retrofitted for a king, destined to go to revolution’s valuable player in the business today.
You could even call him the Lucha Valuable Player...and his name, was Chase Robinson.
“Who doesn’t know who Adrien Cochrane is? The man works hard, the man is accomplished, and the man has built his brand into the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow so to speak, that it is today. And that’s all well and good.”
The scene opens up with Chase Robinson sitting upright in one of the most comfortable airplane seats ever. First class, of course, because when you’re used to the best, you don’t ride with the rest.
“I know who you are, and it’s that reason I’m watching and am going to ensure I’m ready for the surprises you bring, and the signatures you deal. I will take your dropkicks and I will ask for more, because your dropkicks may be good...but I’m just that much better. You see, it’s taken you years to get to where you’re at, and I’m not knocking that. You’ve accomplished a lot of things and have a resume that will continue to grow sure as the day is long. But I, I’ve only been doing this for three months, week-in and week-out, and still I’m the only guy unpinned in a whole company. A company filled with greats and sure-to-be Hall of Famers, and none of them have cracked the code that is, how to pin Chase Robinson...without cheating or breaking rules, of course.”
Chase let out a soft laugh, scratching the back of his head before continuing.
“Strike that accomplishment off your resume too, Adrien. You won’t be the one to pin me. Why? Because, as the rules say, it’s Bloodsport Rules! Meaning there is no pinfalls! The only way to win is via submission or knockout...so you can’t pin me at all! Just like the past three months of my in-ring career, where nobody has been able, to pin ME. Are you unpinned? No, no of course not. That’s what makes you just you, and that’s what makes me, me. Revolution’s Valuable Player. And now, come May 28th, that’s what will make me Lucha’s Valuable Player. Your RVP, LVP, and everything in between. The Super Falcon Cup can go only to one man...and this year, his name, is Chase Robinson.”
