{The scene opens inside Roxi and Keira’s house. It’s the middle of the night, and Roxi and Keira and sleeping peacefully, as Nate also sleeps in his crib. Then Nate awakens, screaming and crying his head off. Roxi and Keira both wake up upon hearing the sounds of Nate crying, shooting up out of bed and rushing to his crib. The dog Buster follows too, clearly concerned. Roxi picks Nate up out the bed and hugs him tightly.}
Keira – It’s okay. It’s okay, we’re here. Mama’s here.
{Keira continues to console Nate as Roxi strokes his face. He’s still crying but looks incredibly frightened.}
Roxi – Shhh… it’s alright, calm down. What’s a matter?
Nate – Mommy! Bad Man!
Roxi – Bad man? Sweetie you were having a nightmare, it’s just a dream. Everything is okay.
Keira – No bad man is ever going to hurt you. I promise.
{After a few minutes, Nate is calm and drinks his bottle until he eventually goes back to sleep. Roxi and Keira head back into the bedroom. Keira looks a little more than concerned.}
Keira – Bad dreams?
Roxi – They happen.
Keira – I don’t know, Nate has never made a sound like that ever. Even when he was a baby. He sounded like he was terrified.
Roxi – I know that, but, what do you wanna do? He’s gonna have nightmares from time to time.
Keira – Roxi, he was shaking, he could barely stop crying.
Roxi – I know Keira, I don’t like it any more than you do.
Keira – I think he needs something.
Roxi – What do you mean?
Keira – Something to make him feel safe, you know? Like a… protective blanket.
Roxi – He’s got blankets.
Keira – Not an actual blanket. Well, maybe a blanket, but something he… something he uses to feel safe?
Roxi – Oh. Ohhh! I gotcha.
{Roxi yawns, snuggling up with Keira.}
Roxi – I’ll take care of it in the morning.
{Roxi drifts back to sleep, but it takes Keira a few minutes, listening to ensure Nate is okay, before she too falls back asleep.}
{The next morning, Nate is playing in the living room with some legos with Roxi watches over him, sitting on the couch while Keira watches both of them from the dining room hallway.}
Keira – Did you find anything?
Roxi – Anything for what?
Keira – For what we talked about last night?
Roxi – Oh… I got it. It’ll be fine.
{Keira enters the living room and sits down with Nate, and Nate begins handing her legos.}
Nate – Mama. Play.
Keira – I’ll play, but you know you need a nap soon.
Nate – No. No nap.
Keira – Yes. Nap. We’ll play with these legos for a while but you will have to go to bed soon.
{Nate looks over at his bedroom, and his face visibly changes to an upset look.}
Nate – No bed. Bad man.
Keira – Sweetie that was a nightmare. There’s nothing to be scared of. Mommy is always going to be here.
Nate – No bed. Bad man.
Keira – There’s no bad man in there. I promise it’s okay. You just had a bad dream. Here, let’s go look.
{Keira stands up and picks up Nate, taking to him to his bedroom, where he still looks shaken. Keira whirls around the room, looking for the “bad man”}
Keira – Where’s the bad man? See? No bad man.
{Nate points to his crib. Keira takes him over and touches the bed all over and looks at Nate.}
Keira – No bad man. He’s gone.
{Roxi enters the room with a plush stuff dog toy that looks exactly like Buster.}
Roxi – Here.
Nate – Busser. Busser.
Roxi – Yes, this is Buster. He’s gonna protect you from the bad man, okay?
Nate – Okay.
{Roxi hands Nate the toy dog, and he holds it tightly, almost clutching as if it were a protector.}
Roxi – We’ll leave him in the crib and go play with Legos. He’ll be okay right here.
{Roxi takes the dog and places him in the crib as Roxi and Keira head back into the living room with Nate and play with legos for a little while, before Keira feeds Nate a bottle to get him to sleep. They lay him in his crib and watch him sleep peacefully. They head back into the living room and sit on the couch.}
Keira – Good touch with the dog.
Roxi – Well, hopefully it sets his mind at ease.
{Roxi and Keira snuggle up together and watch some TV as the scene fades.}
{We open back up to once again hear Nate screaming and crying in seeming terror again. Roxi and Keira rush to his room again and console him. Keira picks him up and hugs him again and Roxi looks down and sees the plush dog with tears in it and the stuffing ripped out of it. She looks confused and looks around as Keira looks at Roxi.}
Keira – What is it?
Roxi – I don’t know. But I’m worried now.
{Keira continued to console Nate}
Keira – Shhh.. .shh… It’s okay.
Roxi – I’ve got to figure this out.
{Roxi and Keira continue to console Nate as the scene fades again.}
{The next morning, Lita has the ripped dog and stands in the kitchen.}
Roxi – Buster!
{Buster comes as he is called. He sits in front of Roxi’s feet. Roxi produces the ripped dog and shows it to Buster.}
Roxi – Did you do this? Hmmm?
{Buster just stares at the dog, not doing anything.}
Roxi – Did you?
{Buster continues to just sit there.}
Roxi – Alright then, I believe you. Go get some food.
{Buster scurries off as Roxi looks at the ripped dog. She then turns around and sees Keira feeding Nate.}
Roxi – We need to get Nate checked out.
Keira – Checked out?
Roxi – Yes.
Keira – What do you mean?
Roxi – Because I have been thinking about this, and I think something may be wrong.
{Keira looks concerned.}
Keira – Is… is something wrong?
Roxi – I don’t know, but, I think this could be bad.
{Keira stands up looking at Roxi with a large amount of concern.}
Keira – What’s wrong with my boy?
Roxi – I don’t know, I have a bad suspicion. I hope it’s nothing, but… we have to be sure.
Keira – Roxi, you’re scaring me.
Roxi – I know.
{Later, Roxi and Keira and in the guild doctor’s office and with Nate, letting him play with toys. Roxi and Keira are chatting with the doctor.}
Doctor – Well, he seems normal, based on all the tests we’ve run.
Roxi – It’s his dreams. He’s having nightmares. And this stuffed dog was ripped open.
Doctor – Was it your dog?
Roxi – No. I feel like this was a message.
Doctor – A message?
Roxi – He’s still here, isn’t he?
Doctor – Who?
Keira – Yeah, who? Roxi, you are scaring me.
{Roxi turns to Keira and places her hands on her shoulders.}
Roxi – If this is what I think it is, I’m going to take of it now.
Keira – Roxi…
{Roxi walks away and down a series of hallways, to the custody section, housing some criminals. She searches for one cell in particular, finding it shortly. She pushes the button and turns on the microphone.}
Roxi – Clint.
{There is no response from inside the cell. There’s isn’t even movement.}
Roxi – Clint!
{Still nothing. Roxi’s shouting alerts the guard and he walks open, cautiously opening the cell and finding Clint laying on his bed. The guard moves in slowly.}
Guard – Prisoner!
{Still nothing. The guard touches the body, and finds it lifeless. He grabs his walkie talkie.}
Guard – Code blue, cell 4526.
{Roxi watches as the guards and medical team take the husk of a body away. Roxi eyes this suspiciously, and then rushes back to Keira and Nate.}
Roxi – He’s dead.
Doctor – I heard.
Keira – So, what’s that mean?
Roxi – Nothing. Doctor, I need you to help me.
Doctor – Mrs. Johnson…
Roxi – You put Nate to sleep, and you put me to sleep. I’m going to get to the bottom of this.
Keira – What? How are you going to do that?
Roxi – I need you to trust me on this. Please.
Keira – I…
Roxi – I promise you, I’m going to fix this. Please doctor, prepare the sleep chambers.
{Roxi and Keira walk with the Doctor and Nate. They enter the sleep chambers and are hooked up, and Nate is given a sedative. He slowly starts to fall asleep as Roxi is hooked up and the needle is prepped.}
Roxi – Do it.
Keira – Roxi, you hate needles…
Roxi – Not today.
{Roxi doesn’t even flinch as the needle goes in, and soon she starts to fade. Soon she’s in a deep sleep.}
Keira – What’s she doing?
Doctor – This dreamscape technology allows us to go into people’s dreams. I believe she is headed into her son’s dream.
Keira – Hook me up.
Doctor – I can only allow a certain number of people Mrs. Johnson
Keira – You can’t be serious!
{Roxi meanwhile has entered the dreamscape, she follows as Nate is heard screaming and yelling and a dog is barking, but it turns to whimpers as Nate keeps crying. She rushes towards the sounds.}
Roxi – Nate! Nate! Mommy’s coming!
{Roxi rushes until she in a series of rooms, and finally comes across Nate, with the dog still barking. The dog is shielding Nate who is crying as Roxi sprints in rushing to Nate’s side.}
Roxi – Mommy’s here. Mommy’s here.
{The dog keeps barking as Roxi turns around seeing Clint, standing in front of her.}
Roxi – Clint.
Clint – Roxi. I was wonder when you’d get here.
Roxi – You stay away from my son. You stay away from my family.
Clint – You built up quite the life for yourself Roxi. Be a shame if someone blew it up.
Roxi –YOU STAY AWAY!
{Roxi gets up and rushes Clint, tackling him to the ground and pummeling him almost mercilessly. She doesn’t stop, but it doesn’t seem to effect Clint, as he throws her off.}
Clint – You never did learn. I control the dreamscape. You have no power here.
Roxi – I may not, but he does.
{Roxi turns to Nate, who is still crying but Roxi is there smiling at him.}
Roxi – Kiddo, I need your help. You wanna help Mommy?
Nate – I Help.
{Roxi and Nate share a moment, and then Roxi is empowered with dream powers by Nate, helping his mother. Roxi throws one punch, and Clint completely disintegrates. Roxi looks down at the ash pile left.}
Roxi – Not ever again.
{Roxi scoops up the ashes, and takes Nate in her free arm.}
Roxi – Ready to go home?
Nate – Home.
Roxi – No more bad man. No more bad dreams.
{Roxi and Nate and pulled out of the dreamscape by the doctor. Roxi quickly hands the ashes over and they are put in a jar.}
Roxi – Burn it. I don’t ever want him coming back.
Keira – Are you okay?
Roxi – Nate and I handled it. No more bad dreams.
Nate – I help Mommy.
Roxi – That’s right, you really did.
{Roxi, Keira and Nate are share a group hug, as the scene fades.}
Greetings once again Amigos Y Amigas!
It’s that time once again. One more time I get to defend the Rey de Reyes championship, having made plenty of history already. Now, I’ll be the first to admit that the way my match with Avery Miles ended wasn’t exactly the way I wanted, and even making history left a sour taste in my mouth. It made me feel like there was so much more that could have been done and yet, Ii can’t even really enjoy it. I owe Avery Miles another great match, as we were well on our way to having, until it was ruined. Another time, another place for Avery and myself, is still on my list.
Now, that brings me to this year. I’m sure plenty have made resolutions and try and follow them, and I really just wanted to be a better person, and a better wrestler. And low and behold I get to test myself once again, this time against Chris Crippler. And you know, I’m excited, Chris is a fantastic wrestler, but kind of a jerk when it comes to this thing here.
Now, I last met Chris in the La Azteca rumble, and I won. And then Chris disappeared. He went on to be a champion here, and a champion there, and that’s all well and good. I’m happy for Chris, but let’s just understand why Chris is even in this position: He won a vote. He won a vote to get this shot, he didn’t earn it by beating anyone in particular, he basically just raised his hand and said “pick me.” I don’t know how that worked, but it did. Unlike Chris, I actually earned my shot at this championship by beating not only him, but many others. I’ve put many people down in my way, never backed down from a challenge. This is why I am the Rey de Reyes champion, and have been for so long. You want a shot at me, come earn one and I’ll be more than happy to throw down with the best in the world. I have no qualms about that. I fought in Legos, and Halloween costumes and the list goes on and on. Chris should know that having spent time in SCW, where I made my legend. I won every championship there was to win. I’ve done that practically everywhere. If I walk into a company, generally, I earn my way to the top. That’s not a brag, that’s a fact. Chris Crippler won a poll and is now chomping at the bit to try and take this championship from me. And that just won’t do.
I cannot say anything bad about Chris’s skills as a wrestler, but I mean, for him to think he’s going to just walk into the next GOL chapter and just beat me like I’m some newbie is absurd, and I take it as a personal insult. Heck, he even won the poll saying he was going to beat me. It’s not like I haven’t been doubted before, and I’ll obviously be doubted again. I have no issues with that. I’m taking my own advice from last time. The wrestle business isn’t fair and just. It’s not. I have to live with these consequences. But by the same token, so does Chris Crippler. You see, It’s not that I’m trapped in the ring with the most dangerous and determined man in GOL, is that HE is trapped in the ring with me. He has to deal with me, the hero of GOL, determined more than ever to cement myself as the best GOL has EVER seen. People keep wanting to doubt me, and hope for my downfall, Chris Crippler is not going to be that guy. Not even close. I have fought meaner, tougher, and more dangerous, and I’m still here, and I’m still the champion. And I’m aiming higher with this championship. Not just the longest reign, not just a year, I plan on holding this championship for the foreseeable future. And that mean Chris Crippler has to fall. He must be beaten. Another challenge met, another obstacle overcome. That’s what I do. That’s what I’ve been doing since I got here.
And it will continue on Sunday.
I will see you there.
Keira – It’s okay. It’s okay, we’re here. Mama’s here.
