The Dogs of War. It didn't matter whether you liked them or hated them, the fact remained things were changing because of them. The professional wrestling industry as a whole had been infected with this infatuating faction, that not only were beginning to broad their horizons but were making an impact wherever they desired to go. That was the beauty of it.
"We are, the most prestigious team in this company."
The voice belonged to Your Hero and Mine.
Ever since joining the faction, Storm had found fortune. Everything was beginning to take a turn into the right direction, with his American Justice title buckled around his waist and the Lucha World Cup gripped around his hand. These were his trophies, the proof he needed to justify the claim that his team were the best team in Guerrero's of Lucha. They said they were going to win the Lucha World Cup and they did exactly just that. He sat against the edge of a four sided ring inside his private wrestling studio located in New York, Brooklyn. A smirk appeared on the top of his lip, the one you'd usually associate with the character - a smuggish and rather arrogant look. He felt at peace with the world for the first time in a long time, but he knew that the quest for world domination was far from over.
"Screw that, we're the best team in the damn world. We've proved it here and we've proved it elsewhere and we'll keep on proving it throughout the years to come. I'm lucky. I'm lucky because I'm fortunate enough to be surrounded by a team of winners, who despite their chaotic measures and tendencies, at the end of the day we all have a passion for what we do.
We all want to be the best at what we do inside that four sided ring. To have that in a unit, it's rare because it's very easy to become complacent. It's easy to take your foot off the pedal and relax whilst the other guys do the work, but that's not the case with us. We all work hard for each other and for ourselves, because when we decide to hang our boots, we want our names to be carved into the history books. Our names, will be carved into the history books.
We're hard workers, first and foremost - look at where we find ourselves individually. You've got Shimada who's the New Japan Fighting Championship Global Champ, someone who's about to blow up in the scene because he's getting that attention from the US and co.
You've got Devin Hearst, the Seven Headed Beast who's earned his claim of being the deadliest man in all of professional wrestling, tearing it up in Japan just because he can. J
ack Tillman, a prodigy - still a student of the game, who isn't just some rookie anymore coming out of the coattails of Kurt Newman. No, he is one of the best in the business - the current NGW Five Lakes Champion and a future World Heavyweight Champion.
And then we've got me, Your Hero and Mine - the independent wrestler who doesn't care where he goes, wherever it is he's going to make an impact. He's going to sell tickets and he's going to relentlessly deliver a five star match to blow your fuckin' mind. This, is the core of our group. This, is what you're up against."
He paused, pointing to the camera, talking to his upcoming opponents at Hencho En Mexico.
"Team Bay Area and American Ultras."
He chuckled, placing his Lucha Cup trophy down.
"You couldn't the job done at Chapter Quince: Kill Blitzen, what makes you think this is going to go any different? Have both teams had an epiphany and decided that they actually really want this now? What about back in December, did you not want it enough then? Because if you were serious about those trio titles, the both of you wouldn't have lost. But you did. You lost and the only other reason other than the obvious we're better than you, is you didn't want it bad enough. You didn't want it as much as us. We wanted it because we have a legacy that we're cementing. We wanted it because we wanted another trophy in the cabinet. We wanted it because it why the fuck not?
It isn't going to change. We've had our eyes set on those trio's title for quite some time and the fact we weren't heralded champions after winning the whole damn tournament is rather insulting to our hard work and contribution. We worked our asses off only to find out that we're going to have to face the losers, all over again! We don't deserve this. We deserve to be the champions already but we'll play our role in this story and come out victorious at Hencho Mexico.
This company is lucky to have us because we are the guys who are putting asses in seats. We're the guys who get those tickets selling quick time and we're the guys who are making people want to see this promotion. Wherever the Dogs of War are, people will follow and believe me when I say this - 2018, is the year of the Dogs. We're not just taking over, we're running the place. Is there anything any of you can do about it? No. It's already predetermined. It's already happening as I speak."
He came to a halt, finally letting out after that hefty speech. He looked down at the Lucha Cup and smiled, a reminder of his success toward the latter stages of 2017.
"From Your Hero, and Mine."
The scene faded to black.
